Rosita Handcrafted Ratfish Liver Oil™

One of Nature's Rare Wonders

Exceptional Purity

Ratfish in crystal clear waterOur Ratfish Liver is obtained from wild harvested fish living in some of the cleanest waters in the world, and is extensively tested by independent laboratories for heavy metals and other environmental contaminants.

Frequent third-party testing consistently shows that Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil™ is free of harmful levels of contaminants; even without the distillation process most fish oil products must undergo to remove contaminants. Because we use only wild caught ratfish, living among the purest waters in the world, chemical processing to ensure purity is not required. The result is clean and pure oil, with all of its naturally occurring beneficial compounds intact and in their most bio-available forms.

Heavy Metals

Thanks to the inherent purity of the source ratfish liver, our wild Handcrafted Ratfish Liver Oil contains no detectable mercury, cadmium and lead, and very low levels of total arsenic. The majority of arsenic present is organic arsenic. Laboratory studies suggest that organic arsenic compounds found in fish are virtually nontoxic.

Benzo(a)pyrene

Benzo(a)pyrene belongs to a class of chemicals called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), which are found in nature from the eruption of volcanoes and forest fires. Yet, this chemical compound is also man-made. It is released into the air when many materials are burnt.

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 set maximum levels for Benzo(a)pyrene at very strict levels. For oils and fats (excluding cocoa butter) intended for direct human consumption or use as an ingredient in foods, maximum levels (μg/kg wet weight) are 2 μg/kg.

The Benzo(a)pyrene content of Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil™ is 0.26 µg/kg. This is an extremely low value. For example, the maximum levels set out in Commission Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 for infant formulae and follow-on formulae, including infant milk and follow-on milk, is 1 μg/kg.

Persistent Organic Pollutants

Dioxins, Furans, Dioxin-like PCBs & PBDEs

Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil™ adheres to and exceeds the stringent guidelines for dioxins (polychlorinated dibenzo-dioxins or PCDDs), furans (polychlorinated dibenzo-furans or PCDFs), and dioxin-like non- and mono-ortho-substituted PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), set by the European Commission (EC) standards. Analysis is based on World Health Organization (WHO) toxicity equivalent testing methodology.

It also meets the stringent European guidelines for polybrominated diphenyl ethers or PBDEs.

Therefore, according to the stringent European guidelines, it is completely safe to enjoy Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil™.
